BLACKSTOCK CEMETERYBlackstock Cemetery is located off Hwy 21 barely in Fort Mill Township nest to the NC boundary line. It is named for William Blackstock, the first minister of Steele Creek Associate Reform Presbyterian Church. The cemetery dates back to 1793, the same year the church was established. The church split in 1803 but merged back together in 1844. However there were two seperate locations for the churches which were referred to as Little Steele Creek ARP and Lower Steele Creek ARP. In 1883 the two built Central Steele Creek ARP in a central location. In 1917 the church ceased being ARP and became Presbyterian. The following list of surviving tombstones of Blackstock Cemetery was compiled to the best of our abilities. Click here to see who is buried in Blackstock Cemetery |

We were given a tip as to where this cemetery was located, and found not only the cemetery itself, but the owners! Since then, the owner of the site has dedicated it to CCP for further repair and upkeep! |
| Several markers out there looked like this until CCP came in to repair them. We have repaired several of the stones, and put many back up that were lying around in various places! BEFORE-------------------> |

This was after we had repaired this particular stone! Many were fallen down and broken. Luckily this was one we just had to stand back up in the ground! It's not always this easy! |
|
This is one stone that was run over by a heavy piece of equipment. We are in the process of trying to locate all of the pieces so we can mend it back together! Vandals have scattered the pieces all over the cemetery. It's like a 100 year old puzzle! |

Sharlene and Mary Beth after a long day of cleaning up Blackstock! The stone in this picture will be our next project. It will take a lot of man power to lift these, and we are not going to be able to bring large trucks in, so this will be done with rope and manpower!!!! |
